About Us
EAI is a non-profit 501(c)(3) agency assisting those in the community with vocational rehabilitation and adult day care needs. We have provided employment and community-based services to adults and seniors in Western Wayne County and the Downriver communities since 1996.
Our agency receives funding from various local school districts and community mental health and senior organizations, including:

Our Offerings
EAI Vocational Services
EAI Vocational Services is a program that helps in various areas, including vocational training, skill building, and employment opportunities both in-house and within the community for adults with intellectual disabilities and cognitive delay.
EAI Senior Services
EAI Senior Services is a program designed to assist adults with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other related memory impairments to maintain their highest level of ability while engaging in meaningful social and recreational activities in a safe and nurturing environment.

Carolyn D. Sloan, President/CEO
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all administrative, clinical, and fiscal operations of the company.
- Accountable for developing policies and procedures, the projection, implementation, and monitoring of the company budget, and the performance of new contracts and programming.
Education:
- Master of Arts, Guidance and Counseling, Eastern Michigan University
- Bachelor of Arts, Psychology, University of Michigan – Ann Arbor
Background and Expertise:
- Over 40 years of experience working with persons in community mental health with chronic mental illness and intellectual disabilities and seniors with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
- Over 35 years of experience in management and supervision of employees.
- Familiar with Medicaid and CARF standards.
- Exceptional skills in project management, problem-solving, and communication.
- Significant accomplishments include establishing numerous programs in day programming and vocational services and compliance with third-party payers’ surveys.
- Over 14 years of experience as an officer in the United States Army Reserve in Personnel and Administration areas.

Kevin C. Sloan, Vice President/COO
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing and executing the internal operational strategies necessary to achieve the company’s goals and objectives and ensuring the organization’s interior planning, implementation, management, and oversight.
- Supervises organizational administrators and staff and serves a variety of roles and responsibilities when critical positions are vacant.
- Works collaboratively with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the C-Suite leadership.
Education:
- PhD., Psychology, North Central University – Arizona
- M.S., Psychology, Eastern Michigan University – Michigan
- B.S., Psychology, Eastern Michigan University – Michigan
Background and Expertise:
- Over 35 years of experience as a psychologist working with persons with developmental disabilities, mental illness, and obesity risk factors.
- Over 25 years of experience administering intelligence, academic and vocational assessments for adults.
- Extensive experience with presenting stress management and lifestyle change strategies.
- Significant experience in developing and facilitating conflict resolution workshops and training.

Sybil M. Itimi, Program Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and coordinating activities for vocational programming in a community setting.
- Supervises the day-to-day operations of the vocational program.
- Assists and trains disabled individuals to overcome barriers to acquire or improve vocational skills for gainful employment through productive work.
- Directs and trains staff to adequately work with individuals with disabilities.
- Assigns work schedules and evaluates staff on individual performance.
- Monitors staff and participants in the office as well as the community.
- Generates reports and assessments.
- Maintains petty cash.
Education:
- Bachelor of Arts, Sociology, Barber-Scotia College – North Carolina
Background and Expertise:
- Over 29 years of experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness.
- Over 29 years of exemplary supervisory and management skills.
- Over 29 years of superb service coordinating and monitoring community activities.
- Over 20 years of diligent experience in case management.
- Exceptional at multi-tasking and working effectively under pressure and a restricted schedule.
- Background in payroll and billing.
- Extensive background knowledge serving as a recipient rights liaison, health and safety coordinator, accessibility coordinator, and quality assurance manager.
